Within the great kingdom of Magoth Region, there were various items of greatness and importance of Buddhism. One of them was Pra Veluvan Temple, the first temple of Buddhism that was built in this territory.
In addition, the discipline that disallowed the monks to show off the super human state which was the prohibition of bragging or showing off any miracle which can be seen in the present day was also prescribed by The Great Teacher at this temple.
At the time, there was an Arahat who could soar by supernatural power. He was seen by the people of Rajagraha. That caused the rumour and the panic among the crowd.
After the Buddha realized the story, he had the monks assembled at Vihara Jetavana and asked his younger brother, Venerable Ananda, about the cause of it. Now there was an Arahat showing off his supernatural power and panicking the crowd. Who's the disciple doing that thing?
"The monk who showed of his super power is Pra Pindola, My Lord. He soared up to take the sandal wood alms bowl at the top of the tree in order to show Rajagaha, the rich man the supernatural power of the Buddhist Arahat."
But when he caused the confusion to the crowd, The Lord Buddha reproached Pra Pindola, the former mighty Brahman. The Buddha prescribed the disciplinary rule of disallowing the monk to show off the superhuman state.
As well, he, since then, forbade the monks from using any alms bowl but the iron or the baked clay one.
