The story of how to remove the anger

Told by V.Vachiramedhi Bhikkhu (The monk inBuddhism)

Once upon a time, there was one forest monk, before he went into the monkhood; he was a boxer with big muscles. One day he was going to build a temple, so he ordered several things from a construction shop and the shop owner made late delivery. He was point accusing fingers at shop owner’s face; shop owner was very angry, they were going to fight with each other. Suddenly, monk’s conscious had come, he thought that he was no longer a boxer, so he lowered his first and stepped back to sit on the chair. The shop owner confused, so he sat too. He asked the monk, why not you punched me. The monk replied if I fought with you, both of us would be hurt, and when will this over? So, I decided to give in and there was no fighting. Both of they chose to become friends instead.
Buddhism has one doctrine stated that there is no one able to scold other people for all seven days and no storm will blow for the whole seven nights. So it is impossible that they will scold you all day and night. If you are not reacting, someday, they will stop that.

This is the art of step back for a further step ahead.

The story of behind the obstacle

Once upon a time, there was a merchant who was a leader of caravan carrying 500 carts to sell in abroad. One day, the caravan stopped right in the middle of desert, lacked of food and water. The merchant ordered his men to dig the hole. Perhaps, middle of the desert could possibly have some pond. Those men went to several ways, dug the hole and found nothing.

The merchant kept walking until he found a small bunch of grass. He thought, if the grass can survive, below this must be some water. So he ordered his men to dig, they were kept digging until they found one big stone across. The merchant told them to try to drill that rock; maybe next the rock is a big pond.

No one believed him. But since the merchant told them they kept digging the rock for whole one day. Finally, the rock went thru the bottom and they could see mouth of a spring. Fresh and pure water went out and everyone was so happy, they drank and had a shower. Eventually, they could survive from desert crisis.

This story teaches that: “If you find any obstacle, think like the merchant. Perhaps, behind the obstacle will mean that success is waiting for you.”

The story of the truth is true.

In Japan there was a monk and nearby the temple there was a small house of an old lady who lives with her very beautiful daughter. Everyday her daughter will send a tiffin carrier for the monk.

One day, her daughter became pregnant and she thought that if she could not find the baby’s father, the gossip will start. So, when anyone asked who’s the father of the baby? She said the monk, maybe. Everyday, villagers came and asked the monk about this. Only response from the monk was, “is that so?”

Why wasn’t the monk surprise at all?
Because he believed in the truth, for 3-4 months when he was blamed being a father of the baby, he simply acknowledged without any surprise.

Didn’t that woman feel guilty?
At first, she did not care. She just wanted to create a diversion and made other confused, taking attention from her to the monk instead. Later, she could not eat or sleep because of the anxiety and guilt so she went to see the monk and apologized. She said to the monk that “I would like to offer my sincerest apology to you for which I had lied that you were the father of the baby.”
The next morning, villagers already knew the truth that the monk is innocent.

This story teaches that: Being a human, you cannot live above gossips, you simply have to focus and use the truth as your principle. It is not necessary to care what others say.

The story of a grateful day

Question:
“Master, it’s getting closer to family day. I don’t know what to do for my parents so that they will be proud of me.”

Answer by V.Vachiramedhi (Monk in Buddhism)
“Being grateful to father and mother does not have to wait until the family day. Everyday that parents still be with us, it is a family day. Let me tell you one true story.”

There was a man who lived with his father. One day his father was sick at night, he knew that his father was sick, but he did not really care. But this does not mean that he did not love his father. In the morning, he woke up drowsy because he heard his father called, saying that “here son, I am very hungry. Please go and buy porridge for me.” He took money from his dad and walked to the road to buy porridge for him.

Father was waiting for his son going to the market. He went to buy porridge, then sat back and relaxed, walked like no one was waiting for him. When he reached home, he simply put porridge in a cup without took it off from the plastic bag. Then he just laid that at the father’s bed head. He thought “why I could not hear father’s snore’s voice.” This time father did not only sleep, he slept and never awake any more because of the fever, hungriness and without energy to wake up. The son was very shocked due to his father’s death. He could not do anything except shaking his father and crying right there.

This story teaches that if we still be with our father and mother and think of doing something good. Do it right away because if we wait until the important days. Sometimes, when important days come but this does not mean that our parents still with us.

So, during this time will be a grateful day. If you want to do something good to your parents, you have to hurry to do that. Since our parents still be with us, any day we do good to them that day would be a grateful day.

The story of betray

Once upon a time, there was a man went to learn the magic with a teacher. This teacher was a poor and infamous person. However, the teacher had a good object, which is the magic of creating the mango.

After graduation, the man went home and chanted an incantation to create the mango for people and sold the magic mango until he was rich and wealthy.

After that, Bureau of the Royal House called him to appear before the king. The king ordered him to bring in a mango tree. Then the man chanted the incantation to create the mango and presented to the king. After eating the mango, the king stated that “Wow! Who did you learn this magic from?” The man thought about his teacher, who was an infamous one, and then told respectfully to the king with the untrue message that “I went to learn with a teacher who was from the family of Brahman.” The king said “Wow! In the future, you must invite your teacher to teach me this magic. Now, you’d better to create the mango for me.”

The man turned to the mango tree and started chanting an incantation, but nothing happen. The king was so angry and asked why the magic was declined. “Tell me why was your magic declined? Do you tell me a lie?” The man said “I just feel ashamed to respectfully tell His Majesty that my teacher was just a poor person.”

The king said “Oh! You are actually an ungrateful person” Then the king ordered the great court official to bring the ungrateful man to be flogged for 100 times and to drive him away from the town.

The ancients said person who betrays other people shall never go forward. Do not feel ashamed to tell anybody about person who has kindness to us.

The story of grasp all, lose all.

There were a couple of grandfather and grandmother who make a living by being the farmers. One day, while grandfather was doing the farming, he clashed with the jar that was stuck in the rice field. Grandfather then stopped doing the farming and started digging to find the jar. He found that there were plenty of gold and jewels within the jar. Grandfather was so surprised. He thought that “Wow, these are all the precious treasures. What should I do with them? I should not tell anybody.”

After that grandfather put the jar back to the same hole and then ploughed it up and over and acted like nothing happened. At night, grandfather was not able to sleep. Grandfather slept uneasily until grandmother could notice. Grandmother thought that “Well, my husband has never been like this before. There must be something wrong.”

Therefore, in the morning after grandfather went out for doing the farming, grandmother followed him and hided behind the tree to see grandfather. Then, grandfather dug out to bring the jar, brought out treasures to count with greed. Grandfather thought about the plan to keep secret with him, make money from selling the treasures and then keep the money with him alone. Grandfather also planned to kill grandmother. At the same time, grandmother had a plan to kill grandfather as well. Both of them had planned to kill each others

In early morning of the next day, grandfather went out for doing the farming as usual. In the late morning, when grandfather finished doing the farming, he went to sit under the tree. Grandmother brought the food carrier to grandfather. Grand father started to eating and called grandmother came to join. However, grandmother didn’t eat the food. Grandmother denied to eat and said she would go home as she was busy.

So grandfather followed grandmother until grandmother was careless, he hit grandmother at her nape of the neck with hoe. Grandmother fell down. Then grandfather dragged his wife’s body to bury, ploughed up and over and acted like nothing happened.

After that, grandfather was back to continue eating the food. But just for a while, grandfather’s mouth soaked up with the spit and with symptom struggle, and died instantaneously. It’s because   grandmother put some poison in the food. It’s just only the greed for treasure that makes grandfather and grandmother die miserably.

This is what we call “grasp all, lose all”. If we have too much greed, we have to run after to catch our desires endlessly. So… be careful. Even though we make merit, we should not desire too much for the merit. Whatever we do should base on the moderate practice.

The story of misunderstanding

When you are with your friend, if you lost some stuff, you should not decide that your friend stole it. Otherwise, you may lose the good relationship that you have been trying to make and keep.
It’s like the following story:

There was a husband and wife had been living together with happiness. This home also had a pet, which is the mongoose. The couple had raised the mongoose as its child. The couple loved it very much. When the couple had got the own child, they turned to love the child more than the mongoose. However, even though the couple had a child, it still gave love to the mongoose as before.

One day, when the couple went out to work at the rice field. They decided to bring the son together. The couple made a hammock and let the son sleep in the hammock. And the couple went to transplant rice seedlings in the middles of the rice. Before leaving, the husband told the mongoose that “My mongoose, take good care of your little brother.” After that, the couple went for working in the rice field and let their son sleep in the hammock.

Just at noon! The couple saw the mongoose was running to them from afar. The couple saw the mongoose that was drenched with blood; hence, they misunderstood that the mongoose had bitten their son so that the body was drenched with blood. The couple was very angry so they took hoe and shoved in order to hit the mongoose. It’s just because of misunderstanding of the couple that the mongoose definitely bit its son. After killing the mongoose, the couple went to see their son, and the couple found that the son was sleeping in the hammock. Under the hammock, there was a cobra that was killed by the mongoose. Then the couple understood everything and mentioned to themselves that “we misunderstood that the mongoose hurt our son. Actually the mongoose tried to protect our son from the cobra.” After the couple understood everything, they were so sorry.

From this story we can come to the conclusion that whatever we have seen is not always the truth.

The story of Galileo

There was a person who was always curious in everything. He wouldn’t stop just being told “Don’t doubt it if you don’t believe.”
He was Galileo, the important scientist of the world. One day he went to school about 100 years ago. Galileo didn’t believe the teacher who taught him. Like one day the teacher said 2 objects falling, the heavy one will hit the ground first, the light one would follow. Galileo didn’t believe but all his friends did. Why?
Because the teacher in that time was Aristotle who was a great savant, nobody doubted his ideas.

But Galileo announced he would do an experiment. He got up to the top of Pisa tower with two objects, light and heavy. Then he released both things from the tower. Believe it or not, both of the things hit the ground at the same time. Finally he destroyed the theory that “The heavy one will always hit the ground first.” When Galileo did the experiment, it turned out two different things hit the ground at the same time. It turned out he gave new theory to the science world.

This story concludes that: “If you are only afraid, will you realize? Then no matter what you are curious of. You need to go study. If you use the idea “Don’t doubt if you don’t believe.” You will stupid as you were. But if you use “Study to know, learn to be smart.” You will get smarter every time you get curious

The story of being with the bad you get bad.

Lord Buddha give us thought that “Having bad friend lead us to bad things, having good friend leading to good things.”

In Buddhist history, there was one monk named as Tewatat. After joining monkhood he had been trying to meditate and practice until he had an ability to fly. He was also had an ability to transform himself to many different forms. But none pay respect to him. So he wondered why no body respected him even he had been a monk for a long time. Therefore, he thought showing miracle would make some people respect him more.

So he made himself a beautiful man who had thousands of snakes around him. So he flew to one palace where there was a young prince. “Who are you?” asked the young prince. The beautiful man said “Don’t panic, I’m Tewatat.” The prince was surprised that he could do this thing. “Can you be my teacher?” asked the prince. Tewatat agreed and said “That’s perfect. From now on I’m your teacher.”

One day, Tewatat said to the young prince that “You know that your dad has been a king for a while. You might not get to be the king if you don’t kill him now.” The prince used his knife against his dad. So the dad gave up the throne for his son. The new king locked up his dad in a cage, and tortured him to death. After the dad died, the mom was too sad and dead after. So he killed both of his parents, when the cage turned out.

When the time passed no long, the new king’s son read the biography and realized his dad killed his grandparents and thought his dad was a bad person. So he wanted to kill his dad. This family kept killing for five generations.

This story concludes that: “Why the new king got bad?” Because being with a bad person like Tewatat.

And this story teaches us that: “Hang with the bad you get bad. Hang with the good you get good.”

The story of the real winner

Every competition such as a tournament for the men’s football world championship. There are a lot who want to win. Instead of improve them self, some of them cheat or destroy the others.

The following story said about who is the real winner:

Once upon a time, there were two students, one was Japanese and one was American taking sword class with a samurai from Japan.

One day the master who was very old white headed took the students to the beach then said “I have one lesson for you all to do.” Then he lined up 2 lines on the sand. It was 5 and 3 meters long. The American was asked to make the 3 meters line longer than the other one. He said “I’m sure I can do it easily.” He jumped on the other line and deleted it until left only 1 meter long. So now the 3 meters line is longer. He said to the master that “Master, that’s the way I make it longer. It’s to shorten the other one.” The master knock the kid’s head then said “Who told you to do that? Let the Japanese do it.”

The same lines were made up for the Japanese to try. The Japanese was walking and thinking, then he made the 3 meters line longer to 7 meters. He asked the master that “Does this work?” The master said “good job, if you want to see the 3 meters one longer, you just need to let the 5 meters one as long as it is, but make the 3 meters one longer.”

Like competency with someone, you don’t need to go ruin your enemy. To make him fall down to win, we need to do it this way which is to keep improving our self. No need to cheat.

If you win by destroying the others, you get one more enemy. In the other side, if you let them stay as they are and improve your self. You will get better and also don’t get any enemy. And you are the real winner.

Don’t take all the work to yourself

Once upon a time, there was a swarm of chicken lived together as a family. Every morning the leader woke up at 5.00 am. And scream out loud at six o’clock. After doing so, the sun will shine normally. So the chicken was proud he made the dawn happen every morning. He believed he was so good.

“See the dawn happens because of me,” he thought and always woke up to do that. One day he got sick, couldn’t do anything even flying. So his son asked him of he could do it for him. The leader turned to him and said that his son couldn’t do it like him, the dawn wouldn’t show up. “Must be me only.” Then his son turned his back away.

That morning while he being sick, was trying to get on the tree.  He screamed and died that time. The last words were to tell his family to take care of each other.

The next morning without his voice, the sunshine still showed up. Everything was not different from the past days. So this chicken misunderstood him self, that no sunshine without him. At last he died just because of misunderstanding, so he took all the work to him self.

This story teaches that “Everybody shouldn’t take all the work to their self. Someone not just get sick, but die. In fact we should share the work for everybody can help.”

The story of Kong Jue and his student

3,000 years ago there was a savant called Kong Jue. One day a war happened, this Kong Jue got stuck in a forest. One morning his student got up to cook rice. Usually, after rice was cooked, he would make a meal for his master.

One morning while he was cooking rice, the master was looking at him distantly, seeing the student putting rice on a plate and eating some rice before he served the meal. The master thought why the student ate the rice before him. He thought that “Doesn’t he respect me anymore, eating before me?”

When the student went to him, he said “Hey, you ate before I did. Do you not respect me anymore?” The student put one’s palm together to salutation and said “Master, the reason I tried the food is not because I don’t respect you. But now we are in the middle of a war. I worried about your safety. So I tried the food to see if there was poison in it. I didn’t do it because I didn’t respect you but it was because I did respect so I was to give up my life.”
The student tried the food first because he respected the master very much.

This story teaches that: The student did something for his master but the master didn’t think so. So we should never believe what we see immediately, the important thing might not always be seen.

This concludes that: “No knowledge without study.”

The news nowadays we have to compare all the news sources altogether and then believe the news. Don’t believe it just one source. Because what we see is not always true. But it might be something else.

The story of fish release.

There was a young priest who stayed with his master, one day he told his master that he wanted to go home. The master noticed that he looked sad, he’d survive not more than 7 days. But the master didn’t say it. The young priest said goodbye. Half way home he found a dry river, but not totally dry, just little water left. There were 5 fishes suffering. He felt sorry for them and put them in the bucket. Then let them go in the other river. Those fishes survived and he went home.

7 days later he went back to his master. The master was curious why he was still alive. Then he asked "why did you live longer?" The young said "I saw fishes dying on the way home. With sorrow I helped them and let them go. That’s all I did. I didn’t think it’d help me that much."

May be that was the reason that make him live longer.

This story teaches that: “When you help others you actually help your self.”

The story of hypercritical person

There were about 100 of priests in a temple, and one of them was always trying to correct others. One day looking at the other house of the priest.
He saw the water still leaking from the spring. Instead of turning it off, he grabbed a pencil and a paper sitting from his side.

Looking and waiting to see if anyone walked by, 1 man 1 line, the other priest walked by and he made a line. At the evening, there were 15 priests who walked by nobody shut the spring.

He made a record Friday at the meeting. He said “The reason we have to pay off a lot of money for water and electricity isselfishness. One day I saw a spring of water leaking out water. 15 people walked by without doing anything. I wrote it all down.”

He was trying to correct others of not doing anything right.  After he finished, one young priest said “You saw it the first person, right?” he said “Yes.” The question was thrown “If you were the first person who saw it, why didn’t you turn it off yourself.”

This story teaches that: “The person who always try to correct people can see only others’ bad point. So everyone who was born must not be afraid of being corrected, we are under the sky don’t fear rain. We get complained because being human.”

The story of value of reading

In the former time, there was a monk who went to the meditation and lived in the jungle for three nights.
He dreamed about a ghost of a woman came to him sobbingly and ask for the portion of merit.
He had the same dream in the first 2 nights. He started to believe that there must be something wrong near his seat.

Before the third night, he ordered his follower to dig the ground underneath him and there he found human bones. He took that bones for the religious ceremony and later that night, the ghost of a woman came again. The monk asked the ghost “Why are you still coming here.” The ghost said “I come here for thank you.” Why don’t you go to the next life?” “I can’t do that because no one make merit for me, all of my relatives are passed away.”

The monk asked the ghost to help the people on winning the lottery by giving them the number, so after the people won the lottery, they will make merit for her. The ghost can’t count the number, she said. When she was alive, she doesn’t study at all even her parents forced her to.

The monk said “This is bad, if you don’t have knowledge, you will have a hard time doing a labor job even you are a ghost, you can’t give the lottery number to the people too. And there will be no one make merit for your spirit that if you don’t study, you will have a hard time living your life and even you are dead, it is still hard and can’t go for the next life.

This story teaches everyone and the next generation know that, if they don’t study, don’t like to read, they will have a hard time during they are alive and twice harder when they are dead.

The story of Kon Jue and the kid

In china there was a logician who knew everything. He was proud he was the best logician of the country. Each day he walked through every house, just to say it randomly. Nobody could be compare to him.

One day he went and saw a seven years old kid making a sand wall lying on traffic. He told the kid "Could you move away? I need to move my car?" The boy said "I never knew a sand wall must give a car a way." This kid standing up on him. The logician was very angry "Seeing you know who I am?" "No, I don't." said the kid. He said "Then know it. I'm a Kong Jue." Wow so you should know a lot of thing. Can I ask you something?" Kong Jue said "Yeah just ask, I know a lot of thing."

The kid asked that "Then Uncle. How many stars are in the sky?"
Kong Jue was stunned, he told that "Ask something more explainable to us and I will answer. That question is far from our place so much, you should ask something near our place."
The kid asked again "Then, let me ask that kind of question, how many eye hairs have you got? And mine too?"
He was, again, stunned so he said to the kid that "Keep playing. I'll move for you. The car moved away for the kid.

So the end of this story tells us even a great logician who knows everything but not knows their self is not a real learned one, so you need to know yourself too: What nationality? Which family? Parent? Your personalities and habits? Good points and weak points?
The truth learned one must know their self

The story of the suffer you gave to other, will return to you eventually.

Once upon a time, there was a hunter who had 32 fierce dogs help him hunting the animal. One day he went inside the woods and saw a monk. He think this would bring bad day for him. That day, he could not find any single animal and was very angry.
In the evening, he saw the monk resting beside the tree. He wants to punish the monk for brought him bad luck. He orders his dogs to attack to monk. The monk fled and climped up a tree. All the dogs were barking and waiting for the monk to come down. The hunter uses a sharpened wooden stick, stabbing the monk's foot, try to make him fall down. But the monk's robe fall to the hunter and covering all of the hunter's body. All the dogs thought the monk was fell down so they all attack to hunter who is under the monk's robe. Not long after that, the hunter was dead only the bone left under the tree. And all the dogs were gone and the monk came down from the tree safety. This is the meaning of "The suffer you gave to other, will return to you eventually." or doing good deed make you good, doing bad thing make you bad.

It is like a boomerang, it will return to you in the end. But not only do bad thing to other, you must learn how to share your happiness to other too.

The story of Feet and Eyes are not unity.

Feet and eyes stay together happily in a man’s body. One day Eyes talk with Feet that “Hey Feet, you know that you walk any where because of my sight, therefore, I am cleverer than you.” Feet response that “How can you know? If you can see but I don’t walk, how can you see anything at?”
Eyes tell that “It doesn’t like that. Since I have a far sight, the feet like you can go with me.”
Feet tell that “Since I walk, you can see anything nearer.” Both Feet and Eyes have a fight and tell that they are more intelligent than the others.
Eyes tell that “OK, if you think that you are better, you can go anywhere by yourself”
Feet tell that “Well, if you think that eyes are better than me, you can see anything you want. I will not take you to see it near.”

Since then, Eyes and feet are angry each other and don’t have unity. Eyes always shut down. Feet always walk not straight because there are no eyes to see right?

One day Feet walk by and miss the steps fall into the cliff. Both Feet and Eyes scatter from the man’s body. This tale is ended.

This tale teaches that “Unity will be alive, separating will be died. Both Feet and Eyes reach the final point of hurt and death. Therefore, pay attention that you must be united with the friends and anyone whom you work with.”

We must be united with every one we work with, don’t think that only we are clever. If a person thinks that he is only clever man, he cannot survive. Finally, he will fail.

If we are united, we can do anything more. If we are fighting, finally all of us must get trouble.

The story of how to speak nice to other people.

Once upon a time, there were a sea turtle and its friends, 2 egrets. The turtle had never been to any place except the sea, the egrets told turtle that they had been to all the places around the world. The turtle didn’t believe that, so the egrets grab each side of the tree branch by their bill. The turtle bit the branch and the egrets took the turtle flow to the sky.

The children saw the flying turtle and the egrets which were very strange. They all called and shouted that the turtle was weird. The turtle heard that and shouted back to the kids angrily. Suddenly the turtle fell from the sky to dead. The turtle just didn’t know the time was appropriate to speak and it died finally.

This story is telling us that it is very important to know what and when to speak.

The master of Thai philosopher named Soonthornphoo said “Speak nicely bring you good things. Speak bad will cause you a trouble.”

It concludes that “Speaking politely, speak the truth, speaking generously not offence to anybody, and the important is not rude.” It will bring happiness to you.

The story of be proud of what you have.

Once upon a time, there were a son and a father. The father had the great diamond as his treasure. When he was 70 and almost dead, he called his son up and said he would give this to him and told the son to give it to the king, so he would get rewarded and get good life.

After he got the diamond. The dad died on the following day. So he took the diamond to the king palace.

When the guy reached the outer door of palace. The doorman told that if the guy went to find the king and received something, let him have to share half of it.”
So they decided to make the deal 50/50 and the guy said okay.

When the guy reached at the inside door of palace, the doorman said “Where are you going?” “ Meeting the king.” He said “Have you have anything for me?”
“No, Sir.” said the guy. So the doorman said no. The guy begged “If I get anything, I’ll share it with you.”
The doorman said “not just share, we will make it half and I will let you in.”

After he got in, he took the diamond and gave it to the king. “My dad told me to give this to you.” The king was very happy after seeing the diamond. “Ask me anything you want.” The guy said “Hit me 100 times.” The king was shocked but the guy explained “I was unable to get in because of the doormen so I make deals to give them half of the reward.”
“I’ll take the punishment from you and I’ll give both doormen 50 hits.” The king saw his intelligence and made him a chamberlain in the palace living happily.

This story teaches that “Be proud of what you have.”

The strategy of escape from death.(part 2)

Soon, the villagers who could hear the noise got up. They carried the weapons such as bow and arrow, wood, some rock and anything they could grab.

They surrounded the date plum tree, wishing to gave the monkeys the lesson because they dared to steal the date plums in the night.
One man said that" Well, they all come here. Get down now, monkeys. I'll cut you one by one."
Another man asked the first man that " How can you cut them? You only have a rock not a knife. How can you cut them by a rock."
He answered that " Come on, I just make a comparison. Do you get it? A comparison!! You know?"

Each of 80,000 monkeys was very frightened of death. So they were panicky and didn't know what to do.

A female monkey said that "Oh boy! Oh boy! What are we going to do? We're going to die."
One of the monkeys said that " Right. We should be careless. We enjoy eating too much."

When the great monkey saw that the monkeys were very frightened, he found the way to calm them so that they wouldn't be too scared and die of the heart attack.
The great monkey consoled the monkeys and told that "Don't be frightened, guys. There're many things that humans need to do. Let them stand over there and wait. If we don't go down, they can't climb up. Keep eating the plums. Just wait for a while. Soon humans will do something else."

When he saw that the monkeys'feeling was getting better, the great monkey told them to count the monkey
in the crowd whether they were. But after counting, there was one missing from the crowd.
A monkey said that " One of us is missing. It's Senaka. Why is he absent?"
The second monkey said that " What!! Senaka, the great monkey's nephew? Where is he going?"
Another monkey said that " Well...Well...Could he be caught by humans? I'm so worried about him."
The second monkey complained that " And still you can eat. It's really touching."

The great monkey knew that Senaka's absence didn't caused by being caught. He firmly believed that soon Sanaka would find the way to help them.
The great monkey said that " Don't be scared. Though Senaka isn't here. I believe it doesn't mean that he was caught. Let's wait for a while. I think Senaka can find the way to help us."

One of the monkeys asked the great monkey that " Is that true, Master? I'm so scared that I can't do anything. Yum, yum."
Another monkey ridiculed that " Are you really scared? You almost eat the plums on the tree up."

Senaka, the great monkey's nephew didn't accompany with the crowd of monkeys. Actually, Senaka was sleeping while the monkeys were going to the village. When he got up, he was very surprised that he couldn't see other monkeys in the woods.
Senaka said to himself that" Umm... (Yawn). Hey! Where have all the monkeys gone?   Why is the forest so quiet today? What happened?"

Senaka tried to find the clue that told him where his monkey friends had gone. Finally, he found several footprints heading for the abandoned village. Senaka realize at the time that the crowd of monkeys went there to get the date plums.

Senaka thought that" Umm.. looking at the footprints, I guess my friends must go to the village to eat the date plums. I'd better catch them up. I enjoy sleeping too much. I don't know if the plums are gone now."
Senaka followed the footprints until he arrived at the village. When he saw many villagers carrying the weapons stood around the date plum tree, he realized that there must be something bad happening to his friends.

Senaka knew that " No way. If I let it go on like this, my friends must be killed by humans. I have to find the way to distract their attention so that my friends on the tree will be to run away . Let's put it this way."

Senaka grabbed  baby cloth that was hung around there and put it on in order to disguise as a boy. He walked into a house where an old lady was sitting and spinning cotton string.

Senaka was dressed in child clothes as speak to the old lady that " Granny, it's very dark outside. I want to go to the toilet. Could I borrow you torch?"
She said " Yes, of course, boy. It's right there. Take it and give me back later."

When he got the torch. Senaka ran to the house that located windward and then used that torch to start the fire at the roof of that house. The wind that blew helped the fire rage faster. It burnt the house so fast.

When the villagers who standing around the date plum tree saw it, they left the crowd of monkeys and helped put out the fire abruptly.

A man shouted that " Hurry, guys. Fire! Let's put it out. Otherwise, it'll burns down the whole village. Leave the monkeys alone. Let's put out the fire first."

When the people left to put out the fire, the crowd of monkeys took the chance to run away from the date plum tree. Each of them didn't forget to take a date plum in order to give it to Senaka for he came to help them.

A monkey said that" Hurry up. Let's go now before they finish putting out the fire."
Some female monkey said that "We really have to thank Senaka. We'd better take some date plums with us and give them to him."

All of the monkeys talked together happily that " Alright. Alright.... Hey, hey. You'd better swallow it before you talk. You're really something. You stuffed yourself like that, yet you still didn't stop eating."

The strategy of escape from death.(part 1)

Once upon a time, there was the great monkey who had 80,000 followers, they all lived in the fertile forest.

Next to the forest, there was a rural village. This village was sometimes occupied by people, but sometimes it wasn't. On the lawn at the center of the village, there was a date plum tree. It branched out widely and yielded delicious fruits.

Monkeys always came to eat those date plums when there was no one living in the village.

One of monkeys said that" These plums are so delicious, I can't stop eating them. Yum,yum. This is the golden chance. When humans aren't in like this, we have to stuff ourselves."
Some monkey said that "Just eat them up. If they come back, we'll be doomed."

But soon, when the date plum tree yielded its fruits, the village was occupied by people. They built the house and grew a lot of giant reeds. After the monkeys hadn't eaten the date plum for a while, they craved for it. But they didn't know if the people came back to the village or not.

The first monkey said that" Well, I'd say it's time the date plum tree is yielding its fruits. I really crave for it, I want to go back to the village and get the fruits."
Another monkey warned that " If you go back there carelessly and confront humans, we'll be hapless. Let's say, we should send a spy to check if there're any humans living in the village."
The first monkey agreed that " Um... That's a good idea. I'll do it. In this crowd, I can run fastest. I can surely save myself. You, guys wait here."
Other monkey said that " Alright, it's in your hand now."

When that monkey arrived at the village, he found that the date plum tree yielded a lot of fruits as they expected. Anyway, the problem was that abandoned village which they came to get the date plums happily now was occupied by a lot of people.
The spy monkey said to himself that " Damn! Humans come back to the village already. Well, I wish I could burn it to drive them away."

When the spy monkey came back to the crowd, he hurriedly told it to the others. After the monkeys heard of it, they were very regretful  that they couldn't go in and get the fruits though there were a lot of them.
One of the monkeys said that" Damn! It's so boring. What are going to do now? Will we let those plums rotten without doing anything? I don't care I would die for it. I'd say we'd better sneak into the village and get the fruits.
Another monkey warned that" Don't be hasty. I think we should seek advice from the great monkey what we should do."

The great monkey was very smart. After he listened to the story, he carefully considered and then he asked the spy monkey that " When you went there to take a look, were there any men in there?
The spy monkey answered that "Yes, there were , Master."
The great monkey said that " I see. Well, then I'd say we shouldn't go there. Those humans are very tricky. If we go there, it'll be harmful to all of us."
Some monkey offered that" Let's put it this way, Master. How about sneaking into the village while they are sleeping?
The great monkey agreed that "I agree with you. Tonight when they fall asleep, we take a chance to get into the village and get the date plums."

The monkeys agreed to do what the great monkey suggested. They left the forest and waited on the rock not far from the village. They waited until humans fall asleep.
The great monkey said that "Let's wait here until they fall asleep and then go down to get the plums."

Some monkey complained that " I'm so hungry. When will they all fall asleep? They're up so late. Aren't they afraid of the blacked eye?"

After they waited until the sun set and were certain that everyone went to bed, the great monkey let the crowd swarm to get the plums. The monkeys ate those plums happily because they had waited all day.
A monkey said "Um...It's so delicious. I'd better get some back to eat in the woods."
Another monkey teased  that" Is he a monkey or a pig? He's so greedy."

Suddenly, an unexpected  thing happened. While the monkeys were eating the plums happily, there was a man going out to find a place to loosen the bowl. The monkey didn't realize at all that there was a man coming out of the house, because they kept eating the plums and neglected everything.

The man said to himself that" Ouch! Why does it come out in the middle of the night? I'm scared of the ghost. Alright, this place is suitable. It's perfect."

Suddenly, the man saw many monkeys eat the plums on the tree .
He thought  that " Hey! It's monkey. Whoa! they're ten thousands of them. They sneak in and get the date plums , don't they? Tut! How dare?"
Then he shouted that " Guys!! Get up. There're monkeys stealing our date plums. Get up!!"
A female monkey said that " Oh boy! Someone see us. We're a dead meat."
Some monkey said that" What should we do? We'll all surely die."
But some monkeys don't know what happened, just eat only, and kept saying " Yum,yum."
One of the monkeys warned his friends that " You're the best. We'll all die in any minute but you can eat like nothing happens."

The story of diligence and effort ( part 2)

The merchant, the leader of the caravan, was wise and thorough. He surveyed to find the way out.
The merchant thought that " I can't give up my diligence. My men will certainly die. I have to be patient. There's always hope. An industrious man never loses hope."
The merchant didn't frustrated even though they lost. They committed to resolve the problem.

The merchant surveyed the route with his effort. He saw something and said that" Over there. There's a cluster of grass, there must be water under the sand ." He shouted to his men that " Hey! You guys, come over there." One of his men asked that " Where? Master. I lost my strength. Don't you tell me to walk forward without destination."
The merchant tried to explore and find grass and ensuring that there must be water below.
The merchant replied that " No. I don't. I found the source of water. You bring some hoes and spades. Hurry up. We're gonna have some water to drink soon."

The merchant told his men to help dig for water.
With their great pleasure, all of his men helped each other dig for water under the sand.
Someone grumbled that " Tired and thirsty. I can't stand it anymore."
Another one repeated that " I' tired too. We kept digging for a long time but we can't find any water."
Other one said that " No matter how deep we dig, we find only sand."

The men helped dig the grass but they have met with disappointment.
When they couldn't find any water, they lost their hope. Besides, finding a pack of rock at the bottom made them more disheartened.

The merchant told himself that " Everyone loses their heart. No way. I can't be like them. I must try to exploit until I find water."

The merchant never lost his hope. He laid down with his ear on the pack of rock and listened to the sound carefully. He heard certain sound and believed that the sound below is the sound of the water. He said that "That's right. It's the sound of a stream."
He called his men and said that " Hey! help me dig over here .There must be some water."
The merchant's follower said that " Right away, Boss. I still have some strength. There you go."

His gigantic follower pounded on the rock a few times, it was tumbled down. The water sprang up and became a big fountain. The caravan was glad as they were dead and reborn again.
They are happy and shouted that " Hoorey! Finally, I found water."
Someone said to the merchant that " We all survive because of your effort."
The water was used for drinking. cooking, while waiting to travel at night.

The water beneath the sand prolonged everyone's life and gave back the strength to cook until they could set off  again.
The merchant said to his men that " You should keep in mind that there's always hope for everyone who's not lazy."

When the moon raised to the deep blue sky on that night, the merchant led his caravan to the destination safely.
One man shouted happily that " We're arriving the town."

This tale teaches that :-
Anyone who is not lazy and keep digging into the sand can find water beneath the sand in the open space.
Compared to a priest who fills diligence and effort also find the peace in his mind.

The story of diligence and effort. (part 1)

In the former time, there was a Benaresian merchant who always freighted the goods abroad.
Once the merchant had to lead his caravan across the desert which was 60 leagues far. It's a very long way this time.
It's far and hot crossing the desert. It surely caused more trouble.

On that journey they had to pass the very hot desert. So they stop at daytime and proceeded at night.
One of the men  in caravan said that " The sun is rising. We'd better stop before getting burnt."
The merchant ordered his men to rest during daytime because the sun and the sand is very hot.
The merchant said to everybody that " Stop, everyone. Stop over here. We'll rest until the moon rises, then we move on."
A man said that " Now I can take a break. I walked all night. I'd better sleep. So sleepy."
One of the men said to another that " How can you fall asleep so easily? You stop and sleep in the next minute. Get up and eat first."

The merchant who was the leader of their caravan always stopped to let his men and the cattle rest. Until it was only 1 league or 16 kilometers left, then they would pass the desert.

When they stopped, everyone was not  impertinent. They ate and drank all of their provisions.
One man said happily that " I'm so happy. Let's eat them all . Tomorrow we'll be in town."
Another man said that " Right. Eat'em all up. It holds us down. We'll arrive there soon. we're gonna find something delicious in town."
Other man said that " I'm too full to get up."

At dusk, the merchant and his wagon train was ready to leave.
When it was the time to set off, the navigator rode his cart in front of  the caravan. Everyone followed him. They could find the direction by looking at the stars.
The merchant said to the men that " Everyone, get yourself ready. Let's go further."
Someone in caravan shouted that " Hey, ho! Let's go. We'll get there soon."
Another one said that " I'm still full. I ate too much. I'd rather sleep in the cart."

The navigator was asleep in the wagon train was traveling.
The cool breeze of the desert at night and the creak of the wheels of carts was like a lullaby. It lulled the navigator to fall asleep.
The navigator muttered that " It's breezy and the air is fine."
One of the men warned the navigator that "Don't sleep, old man. I don't know the way."
The navigator said that " Just go, straight on. I'll tell you the direction."
The wagon train walked  back to the original place. It was not known and noticed.

According to what happened, the merchant's caravan, in steady of reaching to the destination, get lost and kept coming back to the same place  without someone realizing that.

Someone in caravan complained that " When will we arrive? I'm so tired."
Another one who heard ,said that " Come on. Don't be grouchy. We'll reach there soon, I guess."
Other one added that " Right. Don't be too fussy. keep going on."

When the caravan realized that  they were lost, it was too late. The further they proceeded, the stronger the sun shined.
The merchant began to realized that was lost. He felt so bad. And he knew that the foodstuffs are used up.

One of the men in caravan complained that " I'm thirsty and hungry. Hungry, hungry,....."
Another one warned that " Don't be fussy. The more you talk, the more you get hungry. We shouldn't eat them all last night."

The story of pooling efforts to protect the danger (part 2)

When the hunter arrived, he only found a turtle lying with no strength left.

The hunter said that" Hey! I set the trap for a doe, but I get a turtle. Well, fine. I don't come here for nothing. They said the turtle's meat can make us having a long life. I'd better try it." The hunter wrapped the turtle with cloth and hung it because he saw the doe who came back to decoy him at that moment.

The doe shouted that " Hunter, I'm here. You want to eat me, don't you? Follow me."
The Hunter said that " Hey! It's a doe. Hoorey! Today I'll have both turtle and doe. Yummy! Wait here.Turtle. I'll come back to cook you. Let me catch the doe first."

When the doe ran away, the hunter chased after into the overgrown forest. Meanwhile the barn owl bird appeared to tell the turtle to prepare himself.
The bird said to the turtle " Turtle, prepare yourself. Soon the doe will come back and unwrap the cloth. Now he's seducing the hunter to go into the woods."
Turtle said " Alright, I'll go into the water as fast as I can."
The bird asked the turtle that " How's your mouth? Is it alright now?"
The turtle answered that " It's getting better. I don't know how many teeth are left?"

When the sun rose, the doe could trick the hunter to go far away from them. Then he came back and set the turtle free.
The doe told the turtle that "Come down ,Turtle. Thank you so much. If you don't gnawed the rope and if the bird doesn't stall for time. I'll be a piece of steak now."
The turtle said that " I thank you and the bird for coming back to help me."
The bird said to the turtle that " That's fine. Anyway, you should go back to the water. The doe and I will hide ourselves in the woods also. When the hunter leaves, we come out to see each other again."
The turtle said that " Okay, everyone."

The time passed until it was almost noon. The hunter finally could find the way out to that place. When he arrived at the tree that he hung the turtle up, he saw nothing. So he picked up the ragged rope and the empty cloth and went back disappointedly.

The hunter grumbled that " I'm so pissed off. I can't believe that those animals can pool the efforts together.
I shouldn't fall into their trap. I'm so hungry. I'll go back and eat some veggies  and dip. Next time I'll get them. I'll eat them all. Wait and see."

When the danger passed, the three friends came out and lived their lives naturally without carelessness. When there was any fear threatening to one of them, the other two animals would always work together save him from that fear. This was the way they did until they all passed away.

The story of pooling efforts to protect the danger (part 1)

Once upon a time, in the forest,  there was a little pond surrounding with the groves and the hollows in the tree trunk. Within a hollow, there was a nest of barn owl bird. The pond was the habitat of a turtle, and in the groves around, there was a doe dwelling. The three animals were best friends. They always took care of each other.

The bird greeted everyone that " Good morning, Turtle, Doe"
Turtle said that " Good morning, Bird. Your voice wake me up every morning"
Doe said " Right. If I didn't hear your voice, it would be a quiet morning."
Bird concluded that " Well, I'm here to wake everyone."
นายพรานเข้าป่าล่าสัตว์และได้พบรอยเท้ากวาง เลยทำการวางบ่วงดักไว้ตามเส้นทางเดินของกวาง

Once there was a hunter passing by and seeing the doe's footprint, so he set the trap according to what he had learnt.
The hunter said to himself  " Hungry, hungry. I haven't eaten anything since morning. Today  I must catch at least 5 animals and I'll eat them all."

เจ้ากวางถูกกับดักของนายพรานรัดข้อเท้าอย่างแน่นหนา

In the late night, it was the time that  the doe must walk by the place that the hunter had set the trap. Finally, the trap worked, the doe's ankle was fastened tightly by the snare.
Doe cried loudly " Help me! I'm on the hunter's trap, help me!"
เจ้าเต่าได้ช่วยเหลือเพื่อนกวางโดยการ กัดเชือกบ่วงที่แข็งและเหนียวยิ่งนัก

The doe cried for help just once.
The bird and the turtle hastily came to him and helped him eagerly.
The turtle said " Doe don't worry. I'm a turtle. I have sharp teeth. I keep gnawing soon the rope will be torn."
The bird said " Right. Don't worry , Doe. I'll stall the hunter for time."
Doe said that " Thank you both of you."

While the barn owl bird was flying to the hunter's house, the turtle gnawed the rope diligently.
The turtle said " Ouch! What kind of rope is it? It's tough. Luckily, my teeth are sharp or it wouldn't be torn."
When the time passed , Turtle said " Well, my mouth is fatigued."
Doe said with concern that " Hang on, Turtle. I know that you gnaw the rope until your mouth is hurt"
The turtle said " That's ok. I'm fine."

The hunter's house in the wood wasn't far from the place that the doe was trapped. Every time he set the trap, he always got up and check the animals where he had set the trap. But tonight , if he opened the door,
he would be attacked by the barn owl bird at once.

The bird said " Man counts me as a bad omen. Tonight you'll be truly unlucky, Hunter. Prepare yourself. I won't let you check your trap easily."

When a jungle fowl cooed for the first time, the hunter got up and opened the door to come out.

Bird said again that " Aha! you come out, the cruel hunter. You must see the bird of bad luck. Prepare yourself. "

Bird said to  Hunter that " Hunter, try my peaking. Here's for you."
Hunter cried that " Ouch, it's hurt! What's this? The barn owl bird . Bad luck in the morning."

Many of the hunters believed that if the barn owl bird got in the way, they must change the route because it counted as one of the jinx.

So the hunter changed the way by going out at the back door.
The hunter speaked with upset that " Well, I come out at the back. That evil bird waits for me again. Hm....I should wait until it leaves. Why is it so confused this morning? I'm such an unlucky man."

The bird poked that " See, come out! Do you fear me?"

The barn owl bird waited until she was sure that the hunter wouldn't come out before the sun rose. After that, she flew back to send a message to her friends, the doe and the turtle.

He sits in his hut like this, he must decide not to go out.

The bird thought that " That's good. I'd better go and tell the turtle and the doe. I don't know if he has already torn the rope up."

At that time, it was almost dawn but the rope still wasn't torn up, eventhough the turtle's every tooth was loose and his mouth was covered with blood.
The turtle said to the doe that " Be patient, fella. Just hurry up. The hunter with his spear is coming this way."
The doe asked that " Is he coming?"

The turtle suppressed his pain and used his remaining teeth to gnaw the rope  until it was almost torn up, so the doe could pull the rope sharply and tore it up."

The doe said " Thank you, Bird , Turtle. I'm free. The rope is torn up. Let's go before the hunter gets here."
The turtle exhaustedly said that " You and the bird can go first. I'm too exhausted."
The bird said " Well then, we should go first, Doe. We'll come back to help him later."
